Bourbon Butter Pecan Pie


Easy and delicious pecan pie recipe made with bourbon and browned butter.

Equipment Needed:

  • 2 bowls
  • Whisk
  • 9 inch pie pan

Filling Ingredients:

5 - 7 oz roasted pecans
3 eggs (room temperature)
50g brown sugar
60g maple syrup
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp browned unsalted butter
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp bourbon

Steps:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350°F / 175°C.
  2. Roast pecans in oven for 10-12 minutes. Once roasted set aside to cool.
  3. Brown unsalted butter in a skillet over medium-low heat.
  4. Whisk browned butter, sugar, and maple syrup in a bowl.
  5. Whisk eggs, salt, vanilla extract in a separate bowl from sugar mixture.
  6. Pour egg mixture into sugar mixture bowl, add bourbon and whist until fully combined.
  7. Place cooled pecans on pie crust, then pour wet mixture into pie crust.
  8. Bake at 350°F / 175°C for 35 to 40 minutes.
