Pickled Red Onions

 





Tools Needed:

  • Airtight container
  • Small saucepan
  • Sharp knife
  • Bowl
  • Plastic wrap

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/4 salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 251g distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
Steps:
  1. Thinly slice red onion lengthwise and place in a bowl. Add coriander seeds and black peppercorns into the same bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, pour vinegar, salt and sugar and stir over medium heat until dissolved. 
  3. Bring vinegar mixture to a simmer, then pour over onions in the bowl and cover with plastic wrap for 30 to 60 minutes.
  4. Transfer to airtight container and use immediately or store in fridge.
  5. Enjoy!
